- I am a teacher/library science student in Texas. I have taught 7-8th grade Language Arts for the past five years. I am taking the 2007-2008 school year off to stay with my children and to finish my degree. I plan on volunteering at my good freind's library during the upcoming school year. I am a strong advocate for junior high students and gratly oppose situations of when intellectual freedom is taken from them.

DC/ALA experience
What an exciting experience I just had in Washington DC! I found that the folks at ALA convention were wonderful! I love the support YALSA provides for all of our youth and the teachers/librarians who serve them…keep up the good work!

The group I work extra hard for are the males. It is so hard to get middle school boys to read once they reach 7th grade. Any ideas would be helpful!
